In My Band

"Feels great to be in the band" says Anish. Feels great to tour all over India alongside all these crazy freaks! *Cheeky Smile* .. I hate to say that sometimes they take me to edge of my patience and my drumming limits (solos), which is challenging ofcorse at the same time, exercising my level of patience as i just said *Smiles*. But the guys are great, never felt i was an outcast, after join in. At times they are very anti-corporate on their talks at our practice room but that just the way they operate.... they are soemthin' like a "loving loud family" i should say. So initially it took some time for me to digest to figure out what the hell is goin on in here?? *Smiles*

Talkin about the practise room, reminded me of the guys. Jagan and Sunil and the serious dudes with a guy in the corner holding his red Yamaha TRB with a serious face. THE most funniest dude in the band is the guy behind the keyboard. Saji. And this is someone i should talk about! Man.. guess ill write a book on him about the little pranks and bullshit that he do later *Laughs*.

My favourite song off of their début record should be "From Here To Clarity". The song is very proggy to me but nevertheless fails to attract a descent crowd. Not a moshy crowd but you get the idea *Looks around and winks ;)*.

But let me tell you what the real challenge is - to play "Run To The Light" live. The song just sounds so different when you play it. Let alone playing out to a live audience. "You know how hard it is???" *Scratches his forearms*...I dont know man, the song has got a lot of off n' odd timing beats but we jammed on it and came out with some interesting stuff. Something we call the "live version" of the song. You should listen to it sometime. Maybe ill put up some videos of me playin' it on EvergreenTV. Should be up n runnin' in a couple of days.. So yea.. Thats how that goes..

Oh yea, guys, dont forget to check out EvergreenTV, we're launching it soon to a Youtube most probably in 1 or 2 days. So check that out. We'll keep you updated on that one.

In my years to come, i expect a new album and a heart wrenching new sound from us... Currently we are working on some new stuff. And it sounds pretty badass! It will feature me playing some native instruments. Also we would be doing some International Gigs too. Will keep you posted so check out our Facebook Page for more ;) ..

See you out on the road brothers!
Adiós!

Sunil's new Toy: Vintage Mesa Boogie S.O.B (Son Of Boogie)
Posted On 08/18/2009 19:13:40

We welcome another GEM into our Evergreen family of instruments. A vintage pre 80s Mark I reissue Mesa Boogie S.O.B (Son Of Boogie). Yup, thats right, Its like Christmas came early for Sunil ;) hehe.. An Ernie Ball Petrucci Signature Guitar to kick it off with and now a Mesa 100w Head.. ;) . Say hello to his vintage Mesa engineered tube driven monster! :)

Just a li'l something about this amp. This amp has 2 inputs, a high gain and a low gain, Volume 1, Volume 2, Tone controls, A Master volume, a limiter. The "LIMIT" control acts as a 'Hotplate'. That means it can be used for bed room practise and can produce excellent distortion at low volume. Seems like Mesa put this out during the Mark II era and before the true Mark 1 re-issue came along so its a bit of an underdog in the Mesa lineup. Has four 6L6 valves for some serious destruction which can also let out shimmering fender type cleans..

"Can you hear it RINGGGG????? you will soon... :)" - Sunil.

Let us know what you think about it :) ..
